About Me

Jacksonville, Illinois, United States
My husband and I have been married for 51 years. We are both retired. He loves to garden and read. I like to do those things too but still need to do something interesting and keep my brain active. I have been selling online since 2002. I really like selling over the internet and reading and writing on the blogs as you can talk to many nice people. I also sell in order to supplement our income as day-to-day living expenses. I have a grown daughter who owns a painting business, Painters Extraordinaire II, in Chicago, IL. I also have two dogs(Lady and Corky) and a cat named Bonnie.

The Good Old Days....

I miss the good old days of selling online. When I first started in 2002 just about all you needed to do was find something unusual or popular at a garage sale or flea market and put it online. Almost immediately you got a bid and lots of times it kept going and going. I remember the item I sold for a lot of money was a Blythe doll that had the revolving eyes. They were only made in the early 70s so they were quite a good find. I bought one for 50 cents at a garage sale and made almost $500. If she had been in mint condition she would have brought more. She had a couple of burn places that were fixable.

Those days are long gone now. It is almost like pulling teeth now to get a $10 profit. Very sad. You have to really work for that $10 now if you get it at all. I have 12 stores and don't make $500 a month most of the time even with all the hard work and promoting.

If you have any needs please check out my stores as I have been adding more items daily. Help me make that $10-$20 profit that is so hard to come by lately. Most of the time it is $5 or lower as I don't like to gouge people just want to make a small profit on the items I find.

Maybe some day the "Good Old Days" will return and we will all be able to reach for the selling rainbow. Until they I guess we will all just have to make do with what we have.

Thanks for reading my blog. Hope you come back again.
